Scribbled this "article" while taking in the view fro Kaduna-Abuja road recently and what kept going through my mind was "God is definitely an awesome artist" and the World as a whole is beautiful, all it takes to see this “beauty” is an appreciation of all those little things we take for granted...things like; that breathtaking view of sunset, the "sense of vitality" you get from seeing a wide spread of greenery e.t.c. 

While i was still absorbing the beauty of the "World" (Kaduna/Abuja road to be precise...lol). I thought about how my faith waver sometimes despite my recognition of God's awesomeness. 

So, i quickly scribbled my thoughts reaffirming my faith in God and as usual, I want to share my thoughts with YOU.

My Daily Manna

Hello World,

I recently developed a habit of reading remarkable quotes / write-ups from various people (renowned and anonymous) and then trying to relate them to my life or use them in certain aspects of my life.

So far, i have absolutely no regret "picking up this habit" and i thought it would be a good idea to share some online.

My fav write-ups appear daily in Vanguard Newspaper "Take Heart by Ella Randle", of course some don't make much sense to me at the moment but i always archive them, who knows when i would need some inspiration :).

Here are some excerpts from my "Daily Manna" (as i would like to call them) :

TITANIUM...Am Bullet-Proof

Usually i get to write based on what i listen to or events happening around me and recently one of the songs on "replay" in my head is Titanium by David Guetta ft Sia...which fits perfectly with a lot that has occurred in recent times. First, let me define the word 'titanium".

"A type of metal, which is stronger than steel, but lighter in weight.  Titanium is corrosion resistant and serves many purposes because of its durability. Titanium changes colour as the metal's temperature increases".  

Now am going to breakdown specific words in this definition to further explain the aim of this "musing" :). 

Definitions of Life

Many definitions of LIFE, yet it seems every "definition" was conned to fit an individual's state of mind at a certain period in time...so I might as well con mine to suit my "state of mind"...

To me, life is an endless dream...a state of suspended nostalgia...an exercise that either breaks or makes you before the Maker deems it fit to take you. 

Music : Food for my Soul

Time to talk about my "first love" :-)....MUSIC

Yep,that was and is still my real "love"....we all tend to say we love various things without adding so much value or depth to the utterance but when i say i love music...i mean it from the depth of my soul.

Music has been the No.1 constant in my life....like Bob Marley says "Music is the only thing that hits you and you feel no pain" and trust me, music has never caused me "pain" :-), all i feel is joy and that adrenaline rush that comes especially when am listening to naija jams.

Sometimes, i actually have to struggle to stop myself from dancing in the office (i hope my boss doesnt get to see this...lol) but that's how much it "hits" me.

Fragile

Just heard the sad news of a friend's death...Shehu Folmi Mutashi aka Lapasky.

And it instantly took me down memory lane,back to my university days and when i first met Lapasky (as we fondly call him),we were both in the same department and although he was a year ahead of me,there was just one instant connection between us and the fact that people used to say we look alike made it last longer.

He was one of those go lucky dudes, who never had a worry in life...he really just lived for the moment despite his genotype (SS), that is the Lapasky i knew:-). He took me under his wings and because of his little frame, i used to tease him and call him "my lil brother".

Unfortunately, the events of life created a void between us, because soon after he left the university,we stopped keeping in touch regularly except the occassional texts and calls which eventually came to a stop. 

FROM MY HEART TO YOURS

I usually hear these words "what doesn't kill you,only makes you stronger" and never added so much meaning to it until i stepped into the "wider world". My experience thus far h...as taught me the power of Hope, Faith and most importantly Resilience.

I have learnt to see/accept the good and bad in humans, change the way i view events and take life one step at a time.

I have learnt to totally and completely let God take "the wheel".

I have learnt to smile no matter the situation,cuz the world can try to take my strength but it can never take my joy...that is something we all have that is truly and absolutely "ours".

Thus;
I smile even when things dont make sense.
I smile even when people you call "friends" arent who they claim to be.
I smile even when i dont know what tommorrow may bring.
I smile because have got God (what more can i ask for).
I smile because eventhough i may not have everything i "want",have got everything i "need".
I smile because i have a chance each day to praise and exalt my creator.
I smile because i have a bunch of people who truly love and accept me.
I smile because i can smile and;
Yes, i smile because "am alive and stronger"
